Pippa wins a prize

Pippa has won a letter of the month prize from Camper and Bus magazine. It's a polishing kit, so it sounds more like punishment to me.

Well done Pippa, I hope he put in a big portion of humble pie with your prize after his title of the first article.

We love our Palamino's and that's all that counts!

Thanks, Kate.
I wish - I never did get my prize in the end - they'd run out of polish apparently! I was offered tickets to the Volksworld show instead, but I couldn't go, so I got nothing. I thought I'd be cheeky and ask for Vanfest tickets instead, but I got no reply :)

But they had asked me to send this write-up on Claude so they could print it by way of a 'sorry', so they can be forgiven, I guess!

Anyway, on the subject of Vanfest, are we all up for it? Is anyone interested in us getting a club camping pitch, or if everyone wants their own space, then maybe we could just all meet up a little way from the showground and drive in in convoy? Tom is prepared to travel all the way over from Belgium to meet us all, so how about it? I'll arrange everything if we're all interested!

We have already arranged to site with Blinky (my brother's van) but would love to meet up over the weekend. Just let us know when and where.

Hi Kate
No problem - it would be great to meet up and maybe have a look at Polly. I'll let you know what's happening nearer the time.

I've just got back from Glastonbury this week, and there was another T25 Palomino camping just 30 yards from me in the Campervan field, and also a T2 Palomino in the next field - how exciting! So I handed out a few club stickers, and I hope their owners will get in touch with us soon!

Unfortunately never got to meet Adrian and Clare at Glastonbury - I sent a text but then my phone was promptly stolen, so hi, guys - hope you had a great time working there. I did get to meet up with Ian though, so that was nice, although he was minus his Palomino.

My Volks is running perfectly now, better than ever!
It took us ages to get the Carbs set up and balanced properly, they're definately fiddly and finicky little sods!
If anyone else out there is having problems with poor running etc, my advice is to buy a Haynes manual and set up the carbs to the settings in the manual, it would have saved us hours of wasted time trying to adjust them by ear/test.
How is everyone?
Is Claude finished yet Pippa? If not, how's he coming on?
Anymore stories/experiences of Camper ownership?
Something that might give you all a chuckle happened to me last Monday.
I was popping out to cook a bit of tea in the motor(Quorn Burgers and Baked Beans) and decided to pop into the garage to fill up with fuel, it was chucking it down in rain and i was really chuffed with the fact that there didn't seem to be any real water leaks, apart from the odd drip occasionally from the sky light.
As i drove into the Garage, i noticed one of the pumps was empty but there were loads of people queing up for the other pump.
I thought it was a bit strange but decided to use the empty pump.
I put in the fuel, jumped back into the motor and suddenly there was a massive down pour of water from the top of the garage canopy/roof. It literally looked like a mini waterfall!
It came down right on top of the roof above me and poured in through the top of the drivers door and drenched my right arm and trouser leg. Luckily, i don't think anyone noticed me getting drenched, apart from my 3 Year Old daughter who found the sight of Daddy getting soaked highly amusing!
Oh well, once the cooker was going, i soon dried out nice and quickly! Once i'd finished my tea and dried out, the old bus was back in my good books again, where, to be fair, it normally stays(90% of the time)

Not fixed your roof light yet then Alex? Well Polly has a new set of curtains (hand made by me) and they do look good even if I say so myself. She has also got a cushion with her name on it made by my sister in law. Will try to post a pic
